Has anyone seen my parrot? What about my prosthesis?

Has anyone seen my parrot? What about my prosthesis?

Have you ever had that feeling as you alight an aircraft that you've left something vital behind? Well, according to a survey by Skyscanner it's likely to be the most important item of all – your passport.

According to a Skyscanner survey of flight crew via cabincrew.com, some 24% of flight attendants have turned up lost passports, while 23% have found phones and 21% have discovered forgotten books.

But it's the individual items that raise eyebrows the most. Among the weirder items left behind are glass eyes, shoes, a wedding dress, a written marriage proposal, a prosthetic leg, a bag of sand and a single egg.

Then there's another stranger category; misplaced pets. Bewildered cabin crew have reported finding a falcon, a frog, a tortoise and even a parrot onboard. And for the record, this wasn't a Monty Python style dead parrot, but one of the living, breathing variety.

So there's a cautionary tale here. Next time your hostie tells you to check your seatback, you'd be wise to comply, especially if you're transporting some exotic wildlife.
