Mantra "restructure" behind job losses

Mantra "restructure" behind job losses
By admin

Hospitality firm Mantra has stressed that recent redundancies at its head office are a necessary stage of a restructure as it adapts to growth within the region.

The two high-level level redundancies included director of marketing, Ken Minnikin, and Luke Jamieson, general manager distribution – both long-serving with the company.

A "handful" of other staff have also been shed under the changes.

"Some areas were streamlined, others will expand as we adapt to the growth that's taking place in the business," a Mantra spokesperson said.

They highlighted a pipeline of 17 projects in Asia Pacific with the company on track to finish the financial year with a profit increase of 5% year on year taking it to $62 million.

"So we are not downsizing, just restructuring," they said, reiterating there are no plans for a sale of the business.
