Virgin Australia has added a seventh position to the list of Tourism Australia's  Best Jobs in the World as it seeks to take its customer service to the next level.

The airline, which has been collaborating with the tourism body on the campaign, this morning announced an opening for a "High Flyer" to be tasked with uncovering hospitality trends and innovations in world-class service.

Chief customer officer Mark Hassell told Travel Today that the airline had been impressed by the skills possessed by the 18 finalists, particularly in the areas of service and hospitality, prompting them to create the position.

"They will go through all of our award-winning training program to get steeped in what fantastic service is all about from which they can say right, what oportunities exist out there to get even better," he said.

The findings will be incorporated into the strategic work already being undertaken by the airline to refine its customer service offering.

"Service is our strong suit, so its about how to we take our great service and take it to the next level," Hassell added.

Meanwhile, he underlined the strength of Virgin's longstanding relationship with Tourism Australia.

"We've doubled our investment with Tourism Australia to have a joint fund of $12 million over three years so there are lots of things that we're doing with them," he said

The new High Flyer role takes the number of jobs up for grabs to seven, with the 18 international finalists officially greeted at Sydney Airport this morning.

The next week will see them take on a series of challenges around the country in an effort to bag the job of their dreams, with the campaign's overarching goal to promote the Working Holiday Visa Program.
