ICCA renamed as CLIA Australasia
By admin

The International Cruise Council Australasia (ICCA) has officially taken on its new identity as part of a move to unite cruise bodies from around the world.

ICCA has been renamed the Cruise Lines International Association Australasia (CLIA Australasia), a development described as a "milestone" by general manager Brett Jardine.

The local organisation will be one of 11 cruise associations to fall under the CLIA banner. In addition to the nine announced in December, CLIA Netherlands and CLIA Germany have since joined the group.

Jardine said it will begin a new era for cruising in Australia and New Zealand, with the body to be strengthened by CLIA's global resources.

"The creation of CLIA Australasia is a milestone for us and a great incentive which will deliver benefits to our cruise line and travel agent members and further boost the local cruise industry," he said.
