Philippine Airlines has confirmed it will launch flights to Brisbane via Darwin from June, as revealed by Travel Today last October.

The carrier will operate a three times weekly service every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, departing Manila at 10.05pm and arriving in Darwin at 4am the following morning.

The flight will then continue to Brisbane with an arrival time of 9.20am.

PAL also confirmed it will begin a four times weekly service to Perth, also from June 1, with departures from Manila at 10.25pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Flights arrive in the WA capital at 7.50am.

The carrier last operated flights to Queensland in 2010 with an A330 triangular service with Melbourne. But the service was pulled after just a few months, blaming market conditions.

Along with the Australian expansion, PAL also announced it will launch flights to Kuala Lumpur from May 1, Guangzhou from June 1 and to Abu Dhabi from October 1.
