Etihad partners strengthen ties

A new codeshare agreement between Etihad partners, Air Seychelles and Airberlin, will allow customers of both carriers to fly "seamlessly" between Germany and the Seychelles via Abu Dhabi.

Under the agreement, Air Seychelles will place its HM code on four Airberlin daily return services between Abu Dhabi and Berlin and Dusseldorf with immediate effect, in addition to its existing 26 weekly codeshare connections with Etihad to Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf.

Meanwhile, Airberlin's AB code will be placed on four Air Seychelles weekly return services between Abu Dhabi and the Seychelles. The German carrier already has four codeshare connections to the Seychelles with Etihad.

The two airlines are both members of Etihad's strategic equity alliance, with the Abu Dhabi-based airline holding a 40% stake in Air Seychelles and 29% stake in Airberlin.
