Jetstar Japan will launch five new routes for the northern hemisphere summer, with three to fly from its newest base at Nagoya as it scales down Osaka operations.

Website Airline Route revealed that, from March 31, services will start between Nagoya Chubu Airport and both Fukuoka and Sapporo Chitose, coinciding with the start of Tokyo Narita-Oita services.

Nagoya Chubu-Kagoshima and Tokyo Narita-Kagoshima services will follow from May 31, when the airline will also downsize its Osaka base.

Jetstar Japan services from Osaka Kansai to Fukuoka and Okinawa will be reduced from twice to once daily, and to Sapporo Chitose from three times to once daily.

In addition, frequencies on the Tokyo Narita-Fukuoka route will shrink from four to three times daily and Tokyo Narita-Okinawa from three times to twice daily over selected periods.

Tokyo Narita-Osaka Kansai services will dip from three times to twice daily from May 31, then further to once daily from June 6.

Meanwhile, the carrier's Tokyo Narita-Sapporo Chitose service will rise from three times to between four and six times daily from May 31.
