Flight Centre: We don’t support Jones
By admin

Flight Centre has disassociated itself from comments made by DJ Alan Jones about Julia Gillard’s father after coming under scrutiny from consumers – even though it does not even advertise on his show.

The retailer said customers “have questioned Flight Centre’s position” after Jones said the PM’s dad had “probably died of shame”.

Flight Centre tweeted earlier today that it “does not support” Jones’s remarks and directed its Twitter followers to a statement.

“We would like to clarify that Flight Centre does not advertise on the Alan Jones show,” it said. “Flight Centre thanks customers for their feedback. We have taken these comments on board and we are reviewing our future radio advertising placements as a matter of priority."

Flight Centre added that placing adverts with media outlets did not mean it endorses the views of editors or radio DJs.
