Wotif chief Robbie Cooke to step down

Wotif chief Robbie Cooke to step down
By admin

Wotif chief executive Robbie Cooke has quit the online retailer to pursue “an opportunity outside of the travel industry”.

The Brisbane-based firm made the announcement to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) earlier today. He is expected to leave at the end of the year.

Wotif chairman Dick McIlwain said the search for a successor has begun.

“After seven years of successfully leading the team at Wotif and managing the emergence of the company from private ownership into a class leading ASX listed company, he has informed me that he wished to step down to pursue an opportunity outside the travel industry,” McIlwain said. “I know this decision would not have been an easy one given Robbie’s passion for Wotif and the online travel sector.”

He added: “We are targeting an appointment around the end of this calendar year and we are confident that we can seamlessly transition to the new chief executive with Robbie’s support.”
