Apartment hotels: Versatile style
By admin

Couples wanting funky lodgings close to a city’s hotspots, families seeking a spacious environment with all the comforts of home, and time-poor business travellers seeking a sophisticated haven – serviced apartments cater for them all. Caroline Adam explains how every demographic is looked after when it comes to this versatile style of accommodation

FAMILIES

Gone are the days when the whole gang had to share a hotel room and possibly even order a trundle bed for the smallest of the fry. No matter how well the members of a family get along, everybody needs their space, and that’s where apartment hotels come in. It’s an appealing concept – being able to escape the hectic daily routine with a holiday in a new and exciting destination, while not having to miss out on all the great things about home.

After the day’s fun-filled sightseeing at the nearby attractions, the troop can return to their apartment hotel with supplies for an easy meal prepared in the fully equipped kitchen, which sure helps keep the costs down. Mum and Dad can settle back for the evening with a DVD in the living area, while the kids can make tracks to their bedrooms and while the hours away on the Xbox.
Unfortunately, even on holiday there’s the issue of dirty clothes piling up, but fortunately that’s easily remedied, thanks to the wonderfully convenient laundry in your serviced apartment.

COUPLES

There’s nothing like staying right in the heart of a city, just footsteps away from major tourist attractions as well as an array of dining, nightlife and shopping options as well as the. For couples wanting a sophisticated and convenient base for their daily adventures, nothing beats a serviced apartment. Another great thing about being centrally located is the proximity to public transport, which makes it easy to get out of the CBD area and explore some of the city’s more bohemian or cosmopolitan districts.

Cooking for two while on holiday can be a more enjoyable experience than when you’re at home, as you’re not so pressed for time. And if you’re staying in an overseas destination there’s also the alluring option of cooking up a storm using local produce that might not be as readily available at home. Having a state-of-the-art kitchen to work in also helps, of course. Kicking back and being able to stretch out in comfortable and spacious surrounds is an appealing thought for any couple planning an exciting getaway.

BUSINESS TRAVELLERS

Whether it’s a long-haul flight or a short trip from interstate, every business traveller appreciates having a quality place to rest their head when they arrive in a destination. And as work trips are invariably of the whirlwind variety, these white collar wayfarers are especially happy to be greeted with all the comforts and conveniences of home.

But the accommodation on offer is also sleek and stylish, in keeping with the lifestyle of the discerning business traveller. The understated yet sophisticated office set-up in the living area is ideal for catching up on emails, while facilities like the fitness centre and swimming pool are an enticing option for those wanting to keep up their exercise.

When it comes to meals, the average business traveller is eating out frequently, but they’ve got their options back at their apartment too. Many properties offer options like pantry delivery and local restaurant delivery services, and for properties with an on-site restaurant, there’s also the option of ordering room service.
