Windstar Cruises CEO drops into Australia with agent incentive announcement

Windstar Cruises brought the travel industry together yesterday with its CEO Christopher Prelog, who was making his first ever visit to Australia.

Prelog came with all the news about what made Windstar different from its competitors, the cruise line’s new itineraries, and how it was going in the Aussie market.

Among these included Windstar’s new itineraries to the Middle East – making it the first luxury small ship cruise line to visit this area. Prelog also discussed specialty cruises on offer with Windstar for Formula 1, which usually sell out quite quickly, and the wide availability of water sports on the cruise line’s itineraries.

He told attendees about special menus on board that cater towards gluten free and vegan cruise-goers, which have attracted a large amount of travellers with these dietary preferences.

It was also revealed that outside of the United States, Australia is the number one market for Windstar Cruises, with almost all of its business coming through the travel agent community.

To incentivise this community, Windstar revealed its newest travel agent incentive. Agents who make a deposited booking receive a $50 Amazon gift card and get an additional $100 commission on the sailing date.

This incentive will run for the whole month of March and agents who book by 31 March will receive a cash back of $100 per booked guest. The incentive is a personal thank you from Prelog, who commended the work of the Australian travel trade.
