TFE Hotels announces changes to senior operations team

TFE Hotels has announced key changes to its senior operations team to help deliver a rolling refurbishment program and a robust pipeline of design-led, experienced-focus hotels.

In Sydney, Emma Soutter has been appointed regional general manager for NSW and ACT with oversight across 22 TFE properties including TFE’s flagship A by Adina hotels in Sydney and Canberra. Hailing from United Kingdom, Emma cut her teeth in the 5-star luxury market before moving to Australia to work at the InterContinental Sydney before moving to complete the opening of The Westin Sydney.

With more than 30 years’ experience under her belt, Soutter has broad experience in owner engagement and is passionate about enhancing and creating memorable guest services.

Brisbane-based Warwick Kahl joins TFE as regional general manager for QLD, New Zealand, WA & NT, rounding out the new operational leadership structure.

Like Soutter, Kahl has decades of experience in managing economy and luxury hotel properties – both domestically and internationally – and has led hotel teams through openings and refurbishments including the international 5-star resort, Pullman Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, in Fiji.Warwick joined TFE Hotels from Accor, where he spent a number of years perfecting his skills in hotel and food and beverage management. During his most recent tenure at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, he oversaw a 400-room resort and a 2000-seat convention centre – the largest north of Brisbane – and was instrumental in developing the Novotel into a major sporting and conference precinct on the Sunshine Coast.

In line with recent global leadership restructures, Tish Nyar, has been elevated to senior director of operations ANZ with responsibility for 51 properties in the TFE portfolio.

Reflecting on his new leadership team, Tish said Warwick and Emma’s commercial acumen and leadership strengths would stand TFE in good stead for the next phase of growth, with the dynamic duo set to work closely with TFE’s Regional General Manager for VIC, SA and TAS, Stephen Moore.

TFE’s portfolio line-up and the current trading environment looks fantastic,” Nyar said.

“And with Warwick, Emma and Stephen’s combined commercial skills and strong leadership driving operational excellence, I am confident we have a solid foundation as we enter our next phase of growth.”
