Midweek Interview with Sandra Cahill

Midweek Interview with Sandra Cahill

We chat to the sales manager for Australia at the Sultanate of Oman Tourism.

The challenge for the industry is…

Recognising training needs and adapting to change quickly when  the industry is being affected by outside influences.

The things I like about my job…

Promoting my favourite destination on a daily basis by sharing the wonderful secrets of Oman.

And the frustrations are …

None, really. But a few more hours in the day wouldn’t go astray occasionally!

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

A tourism teacher. That would keep me as close to this wonderful industry as possible.

Favourite airline?

All of them! Because they take me to amazing places all over the planet.

My proudest moment was…

My son’s university graduation a few weeks ago.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

Right, so this one time…on second thoughts I don’t recall.

I try to relax by…

Being near the ocean!

The last time I feared for my life was…

Driving to the south coast when a huntsman spider decided to pay me a visit by walking across my dashboard. Not a pretty sight!

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Early morning flights.

I really wish I had…

A second language.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

“The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself!”

I don’t understand why people…

Don’t embrace opportunities.

My greatest weakness is…

Exotic holiday destinations.

And my greatest strength is…

Making things happen.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Donate to Parkinsons Australia, The Chloe Saxby Foundation & the Blind Society- I would also holiday in Oman with friends.

If I was prime minister I would…

Try to sort out the transport problems in NSW.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be…

Barbra Streisand, the Queen of all Divas! There is nothing that woman can’t do!

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Antarctica and Patagonia.

My favourite holiday was…

A cruise from Valparaiso, Chile to San Francisco. I loved every minute of it.

    1. Everyone always says that they would like more hours in a day, but if we did get more hours in a day I have a feeling we would spend them on the train or doing suduko.

A million dollars doesn’t get you much these days, if she gave too all those charities she wouldn’t have a cent left, but probably get great tax breaks.

I do agree about the training though, the industry isn’t nimble enough…
