AFTA are on the case for any agencies considering venturing into foreign waters.
AFTA have brokered an arrangement to have travel agents listed on the free China-Australia free trade agreement.
The deal allows any prospective Australian travel agency considering opening a business in China to do so, without the need of partnering with a local Chinese operator.
“This opens a massive market, particularly for corporate businesses,” AFTA CEO Jayson Westbury said.
Westbury said numerous AFTA members have already earmarked an expansion, and urge any others interested to contact the organisation for assistance.
