Aussies and Kiwis are exactly what you’d expect

With the scariest spiders, snakes and outback animals, Aussies have seen it all.

But according to G Adventures, they haven’t, because they’re jumping on planes in droves to see more in destinations around the world.

G Adventures has said that Aussie and New Zealand travellers are by far the most active adventurers, with over 25% of all its global ‘Active’ style tours booked by travellers from down under last year.

The company, which is launching its new Active style brochure, has found that Aussies and Kiwis are after a more hands-on adventure, booking trips that involve hiking, cycling, kayaking, surfing and snorkeling.

“We’ve noticed Aussies and Kiwis are more likely than travellers of other countries to book an active adventure,” Duchess of Delegation Belinda Ward said.

“It’s not surprising really, given our love for the outdoors and sport in general.”

Aussies and Kiwis are taking on the Himalayas in huge numbers according ...

Each Active style trip, featured in G Adventures’ newly released Active brochure, includes a mixture of different activities and often includes camping to provide a real insight into the natural landscapes that travellers from this region often seek out in an overseas trip.

“We couldn’t be happier with how the Active product has been received,” said Ward.

“We knew Aussies and Kiwis would love having an opportunity to be more active on their holidays, but the feedback we have received is above and beyond what we could have expected.”

Cycling tours around Asia are very popular, due to its proximity to the region but tours in the Himalayas are proving to be the most popular amongst adventurers from Australia and New Zealand, with travellers from this region accounting for over 30% of bookings worldwide.

“We have added more adventures in the Himalayas specifically to cater for demand from Australia and New Zealand for this style of trip,” said Ward.
