Retail travel franchise, italktravel, part of the Independent Travel Group, has teamed up with The Shane Warne Foundation (TSWF) through a sponsorship agreement which is expected to generate a value of $500,000 to the Foundation over the next five years.

This sponsorship includes direct application to TSWF beneficiaries and travel for fundraiser prizes, air travel and accommodation assistance for TSWF projects and  potential plans to setup a white label travel website for TSWF supporters as part of italktravel’s presence as TSWF’s travel partner of choice.

ITG CEO, Tom Manwaring said italktravel decided to form a partnership with the Foundation following a joint promotion with United Airlines which provided US travel for three year-old Maximus Gill to receive specialist medical treatment in Washington DC, through the Foundation’s “Necessitous Circumstances” fund.

“This was our first exposure to the Foundation’s work and we were so impressed we decided to create a more structured way to work together,” he said.

TSWF Chairman, Shane Warne said since its inception in 2004, TSWF has raised over $7million and made over 120 individual distributions to various children’s charities and individual families in need.

“Over the past 10 years, we have been able to make a significant difference to the lives of so many seriously ill and underprivileged children and their families, and it is something we are very proud of.  We are extremely grateful to Tom and the team at italktravel for their generous support.  This sponsorship will help us continue our mission for the next five years; we are very excited.”

Warne said the Foundation aims to help as many charities and families as possible, in as many different areas as are needed.  The Shane Warne Foundation is not restricted to helping one specific cause, but rather aims to help as many different causes as it possible can, he said.
