Viking Cruises expands longship fleet
By admin

Viking Cruises has added two longships to its fleet for 2014 due to the growing popularity of river cruising.

The longships, now totalling 14 with the extra two added, will sail Viking Cruises’ most popular itineraries around Europe.

“We are working hard to match supply with demand, and with these new builds, we have the best designed, newest and most extensive offer of ships on the rivers more than double all our competitors combined,” Viking Cruises chairman Torstein Hagen said.

Viking Cruises has grown at around 22 per cent per year, a rate higher than many of its competitors.

Within a three year period Viking Cruises will have introduced 30 new ships, each fitted out with upgraded amenities that reflect guest preferences and current travel trends.
