Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has made its first foray into Asia with the opening of a 283-ultra luxury hotel in Beijing.

"This hotel was envisioned as an unconventional haven and a distinctively different hotel encounter," Rosewood Hotel Group ceo, Sonia Cheng said.

"We want to provide sophisticated guests the ease they feel at home, yet also a place where they can create their own journey to experience the authentic and unexpected Beijing."

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts are set to double its portfolio within 5 years with 11 future hotels planned. It currently manages 19 luxury properties in 10 countries, including New York's Carlyle and Rosewood London.

The Rosewood Beijing is part of the collection’s ‘A Sense of Place’ philosophy and includes more outdoor space than any other luxury hotel in the Chinese capital. Guestrooms are also amongst the largest in the city, measuring at least 50 square meters per room.

The hotel features six restaurants, including a Bistrot B and adjoining lounge bar under the charge of Chef Jarrod Verbiak, a prot√©g√© of renowned chef Daniel Boulud.

The hotel is the first luxury property in Beijing to feature a connected outdoor garden and pillar-less 730sqm ballroom.
