Tourism Australia says G'Day China
By admin

The 2014 launch of "Australia Week in China" is expected to drive visitation from the key Asian market, with Tourism Australia to play a central role.

The promotion is based on the G'Day USA concept which TA managing director, Andrew McEvoy, said had worked "well".

He insisted it makes sense to extend the concept to China which is now Australia's "fastest growing" and "most valuable" inbound tourism market.

"Off the back of the hugely successful launch of our global campaign in Shanghai last year, we have the significant advantage of pushing at a door which is already open," McEvoy said.

Australia currently ranks number one on the the international holiday "wish list" of Chinese travellers, he added.

The tourism body will work with the Australian Government and the state and territory tourism organisations to devise the program for the week-long campaign.
