Jetstar Australia and New Zealand chief David Hall turned barista onboard a Melbourne-Sydney return service last week as a gesture of thanks to customers and crew for their support of StarKids.

The charity StarKids in now in its seventh year partnership that sees Jetstar raise funds to support World Vision projects benefitting children in underprivileged communities across Australia and Asia.

Celebrating StarKids Day celebrations, customers on flights JQ 502 and JQ 507 were treated to free tea and coffee served by Jetstar’s Australian chief.

During the flight, Hall also did the usual onboard collection and managed to raise more than $1000 over the two flights, pledging to personally match donations dollar for dollar. 

Keen to jump on board for StarKids Day and demonstrate his gratitude to customers and crew, Hall said the airline had raised more than $3 million in customer donations since the partnership with World Vision started in 2007.

 “As well as collecting valuable donations on board our cabin crew play a vital role in raising customer awareness of the projects we support,” Hall added.

Delighted that the partnership has been extended to 2016, World Vision Australia chief executive Tim Costello said Jetstar has grown to become their largest corporate financial partner.
