Singer Dami to promote Korea tourism

Singer Dami Im has been appointed Honorary Tourism Ambassador for Korea in Australia at an event in Sydney hosted by Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).

"We think that Dami's background as a Korean Australian and her great love of her birth country, as well as her huge fan base and connection to many Australians through her music will make her the perfect tourism ambassador," KTO director Sang Weon Je said.

"Dami Im's rise to fame began with winning the The X Factor final last year. Since then she has become a symbol of hope for many young people in Australia," Je said.

Korea Tourism launched a new global brand 'Imagine your Korea' this month which focuses on history, culture, festivals, events, food and the Korean youth scene of K-Pop and fashion. 12 million tourists visited Korea last year of which 123,500 were Australian.
