Qantas kicks off new Tasman schedule

Qantas kicks off new Tasman schedule
By admin

Qantas has begun a new Trans-Tasman schedule in a move it says will provide more convenience for passengers travelling between Australia and New Zealand.

Among the changes are a retimed morning Christchurch to Sydney service, retimed flights between Auckland and Wellington to Australia and amended flight numbers to provide a more sequential alignment to simplify bookings.

The afternoon Christchurch to Sydney service now departs at 7.30am which Qantas said will remove the need for South Island residents to fly via Auckland to connect with international flights out of Sydney.

The return departs Sydney at 6.50pm.

The retiming of flights between Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to Australia will increase the number of onward connections to the Australian domestic network, Asia, US, UK and Europe.

Qantas said it will also reduce overlap of Qantas and Emirates flights.
