Tourism deal to "push boundaries" of ITB Asia

Tourism deal to "push boundaries" of ITB Asia
By admin

ITB Asia has confirmed details of a new Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Singapore Tourism Board that is set to strengthen the regional trade show over the coming three years.

The agreement aims to create a platform that celebrates “Asian tourism at its best”, according to executive director of ITB Asia, Nino Gruettke.

Meanwhile, STB chief executive Lionel Yeo was confident the deal would deliver strong benefits for the show, now in its sixth year.

“As an organisation, we look for partners that can challenge us, and who are prepared to be challenged by us. Our belief is that this spirit of mutual motivation will raise our game and push boundaries,” he said.

“Messe Berlin is one such partner, hence I’m optimistic about this continued partnership and I look forward to more collaborations to provide greater value and exceptional experiences.”

This year’s show ended on Friday, having attracted more than 9,100 visitors from over 110 countries during its three-day program. That figure represents a 7% growth on last year.

Next year’s event will take place from October 29 to 31 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands. It will continue to be a partner event of TravelRave, a travel trade festival organised by STB which this year also featured events such as Web in Travel and the Global Business Travel Association  Business Forum among others.
