The direct service between Brisbane and Honolulu launched by Hawaiian Airlines one year ago has “exceeded expectations”, according to executive vice president and chief commercial officer Peter Ingram.

The three times weekly direct service has transported more than 65,000 passengers on the route since November 28, 2012 – greater than the 41,000 seats anticipated by the carrier.

Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda will adopt a joint visa to facilitate free movement of both tourists and citizens between the three African nations from January.

Kenya Tourism Board welcomed the multiple visa deal with the joint tourist visa to be valid for travel for 90 days. Applications can be made at the point of entry and will be priced $100.

Travel Counsellors has signed its first ever global GDS agreement with Travelport, with the multi-year agreement to see the agency firm upgrade to the SmartPoint desktop tool to be customised for its 1,250 agents worldwide.
