Crown Limited has appinted Barry Felstead, formerly chief executive of Crown Perth, to the newly created role of chief executive officer Australian resorts.

Felstead assumes responsibility for Crown's Australian resorts and its VIP business. The new position makes the chief executive roles for Melbourne and Perth redundant with chief executive of Crown Melbourne, Greg Hawkins, to step down.

Agents that book their clients on Air New Zealand direct services to Raratonga in the Cook Islands will receive a Visa gift card worth up to $100 per return flight until August 21.

Six of the agency's staff will attend the 2013 Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas later this month.

Best Western has signed two new hotels in Tasmania, both formerly operated by Accor's Mercure brand.
