NEXT becomes first to offer keyless entry

By admin

Brisbane’s new NEXT Hotel, part of Singapore-based SilverNeedle Hospitality, are set to launch Australia’s first hotel to allow guests to bypass the front desk and use smartphones to unlock rooms.

The hotel in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall has teamed up with technology giant DOCOMO interTouch to offer guests the integrated solution available via the Next App.

“Designed to Make you Time Count,” the Next brand is said to focus on optimising the guest experience, in particular time-crunched travellers.

“It’s all about giving travellers the freedom to choose how they want to experience our hotels,” SilverNeedle Hospitality, CEO Iqbal Jumabhoy said.

The App offers users end-to-end suite of technologies such as the Mobile Key, but also gives guests the ability to make room reservations, control in-room gadgets, order room service and checkout – all via their smartphones.

DOCOMO interTouch is said to be “the most comprehensive mobile and cloud solution in the market place”, according to the company.
