The challenge for the industry is… Cruising is growing very rapidly. More people are cruising than ever before and customers have higher expectations of their experience.

As a result, the cruise lines that are most successful, excel in creating lasting experiences. Fortunately, Silversea specialises in creating lifelong memories. We enable our guests to live out those stories that everyone wants to tell by providing the highest levels in the luxury cruising market.

The things I like about my job are… My amazing team. They are passionate about cruising and committed to delivering the best. Every day is different.

And the frustrations… There is never enough time in the day!

If I didn’t work in travel I would be… Running a wine bar.

Qantas or Virgin? Both!

My proudest moment was… The christening and launch of Silver Discoverer, our latest addition to the Silversea Expedition Fleet. It spends the majority of its time in Australasian waters with a major focus on the Kimberley region. From experience, I believe this is one of Australia’s best kept secrets.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… Too naughty to share!

I try to relax by… Spending time at home with family and friends.

The last time I feared for my life… Was when I had food poisoning in Shanghai.

If I can, I always try to avoid… White wine.

I really wish I had… More centimetres in height!

The best advice I’ve ever received was… In business – always leave the door open.

I don’t understand why… Some travellers have not yet tried cruising. There really is something for everyone, whether it is a type of ship, cruise or destination.

My greatest weakness is… My Labrador’s brown eyes.

And my greatest strength… I’m personable and believe this is important in life. I can certainly talk to anyone!

If I was prime minister I would… Reduce taxes and assist the farmers.

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would… Have a whole heap of fun!

If I could be someone else for one day I would be… Kate Cebrano.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Antarctica.

My favourite holiday was… Tuscany.
