CLIA moves agent training online
By admin

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced it has moved the mandatory components of its cruise industry training program online, giving travel agents the luxury of boosting their cruise knowledge without leaving their desks.

As part of their annual CLIA membership, agents can access all training to achieve Cruise Industry Accreditation via both desktop and tablets, with CLIA Australasia general manager Brett Jardine saying the new program complements CLIA’s existing classroom training modules.

“This is a major step which will make it far easier for travel consultants to enhance their cruise knowledge, add to their confidence and grow their cruise sales without even leaving their desk,” Jardine said.

Jardine also said access to the online accreditation training will be included in members’ annual fees, with consultants able to access directly using their own password-protected personal profile allowing them to track their progress.

CLIA will still offer classroom training for elective modules across Australia and New Zealand for consultants wishing to obtain higher levels of accreditation, with the fee for these elective modules to remain at $110 per person.
