Travel DAZE Exec: Flight Centre’s Clinton Hearne reveals the number one trend shaping travel

As Flight Centre’s global head of marketing, Clinton Hearne has his finger on the pulse when it comes to understanding the future of travel.

Hearne has successfully navigated a challenging landscape after joining Flight Centre as head of marketing in Australia during COVID-19 (July 2020). He was promoted to global head of marketing in January 2022 and has been instrumental in steering Flight Centre back to financial success – the group recently recorded one of its strongest starts to the financial year!

So when Hearne speaks, you really can do worse than to listen. This is why we have invited him to speak at our Travel DAZE Exec conference in Cairns at the beginning of June.

Hearne will speak on the topics he could undeniably do a Ted talk on: people and culture.

If there is one trend that Hearne sees shaping the future of the travel industry it is accessibility. “Accessibility aligns with the global movement towards inclusivity, ensuring that travel experiences can be enjoyed by everyone,” he says.

Within his team at Flight Centre, inclusivity is something Hearne tries hard to nurture. He recently launched an international initiative to ensure no win goes uncelebrated.

“We’ve launched a global marketing hub (think of it as our own internal Facebook page) that’s all about celebrating our victories, sharing learning moments, and updating each other on marketing insights from different countries or disciplines. It’s our space to make sure we’re all chatting, collaborating, and staying connected as much as we can”.

For Hearne, it is important that leaders “ shape their team’s culture in a relaxed yet purposeful way, ensuring it meshes well with the company’s overall philosophies”.
