Rail travel is on the rise, prompting Wendy Wu Tours to launch a new Rail Collection brochure showcasing 14 all-inclusive journeys for train travel enthusiasts in 2024 and 2025.

“The rail travel renaissance is undoubtedly one of the biggest trends for 2024,” said the company’s Australian managing director, Simon Bell.

“Social media companies are reporting keen interest, with Pinterest for example saying that searches for Train trip aesthetic is reportedly up by 205 per cent over the past twelve months. Our own experiences with client queries are also indicating that this trend isn’t going anywhere for a while.

“At Wendy Wu Tours, we’ve decided to embrace this new golden age of train travel and create this dedicated Rail Collection brochure, with a destination and train style to suit everyone.

“Our aim is to highlight the globe’s most scenic routes, through a mix of high speed rail networks, iconic vintage trains and exciting new routes that link countries, cities and remote regions like never before.”

Wendy Wu Tours has tapped into the trend to bring together a collection of famous – and lesser known – rail journeys to a range of destinations the world over. Think India, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Peru, and Singapore to Bangkok.

In addition, the new brochure highlights combination tours that include both a land itinerary element and scenic train journey, not least of all luxury experiences, like Rovos Rail in Africa.

“In these instances, the rail travel component varies from tour to tour and destination,” explained Bell, “you may be exploring a country travelling predominantly by train or perhaps just getting a flavour of how the locals get about with one or two select journeys as a feature. It’s a great blend to sample the rail trend.”
