Edited by Travel Weekly

TAG (The Appointment Group NZ) has acquired its second prominent New Zealand travel enterprise, corporate travel and events, and luxury leisure travel experts, Red Hot Travel & Events.

This move follows TAG’s recent entry into the New Zealand market, reinforcing its commitment to global growth.

In pursuit of its strategic plan for international expansion, TAG will integrate Red Hot Travel & Events’ clientele, with a focused emphasis on premium event management and corporate incentive travel.

The collaboration reflects a powerful synergy, further enhancing TAG’s global presence, spanning across 19 locations worldwide, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.

This move follows the brand’s acquisition of Sound Travels in New Zealand last month.

Shane Barr, managing director of TAG APAC, spoke about the significance of this expansion, “Our ongoing commitment to New Zealand not only strengthens our global outreach but also solidifies our dedication to delivering exceptional services in the travel and events industry on a global scale. The acquisition of Red Hot Travel & Events is a pivotal moment for TAG, offering promising opportunities to bolster our global position.”

Red Hot Travel & Events, renowned for delivering end-to-end travel and event management services, expresses enthusiasm about joining forces with TAG. Founder Adair Cameron sees this acquisition as an opportune moment for growth and collaboration.

“We are exceptionally proud of our client relationships and achievements since we established. Now, as the next phase of our journey, partnering with TAG opens new doors for growth and opportunities, allowing us to continue our legacy of delivering exceptional experiences for our clients from within the TAG family. We look forward to contributing our expertise to the TAG family, and are confident that this acquisition will provide new benefits to our clients and elevate our local service to unparalleled heights,” said Cameron.

Temporarily, Adair and her Red Hot Travel & Events team will continue to be run as a separate business unit in New Zealand under the same brand but “Powered by TAG.” Over time the Red Hot Travel & Events brand will transition to the TAG brand as part of the global events division of TAG.
