Thailand announces temporary visa exemption to Russian tourists

    Thailand has announced that holders of Russian passports or travel documents will be entitled to a tourist visa exemption for a 90-day stay in Thailand.

    The news will be welcomed by Russian citizens looking to escape the ongoing impact of the war in Ukraine as the new visa enables an extra 60 days in Thailand – read more on the impacts of conflict HERE.

    Indian and Taiwanese citizens can now secure a temporary visa exemption for a 30-day stay for tourism reasons in Thailand, effective from 10 November 2023 to 10 May 2024.

    The new visa schemes follow the temporary tourist visa exemption for tourists from China and Kazakhstan, effective from 25 September 2023 to 29 February 2024.
