Cebu Pacific ups Aussie capacity, launches sale for its 9th anniversary Down Under
Edited by Travel Weekly

Philippine airline Cebu Pacific announced plans to expand its Australian services while offering travellers discounts on its array of international airfares.

Speaking at an aviation and travel industry gathering in Sydney to mark the carrier’s 9th anniversary in Australia, airline spokesperson Carmina Romero said Cebu Pacific will increase its Sydney-Manila service to 5 weekly flight (up from the current 4 flights) while maintaining its Melbourne-Manila service at 3 weekly flights. The intention will be to increase the frequency on both routes over time.

“We are extremely pleased to be expanding our Sydney service, providing greater opportunity for travellers to visit the Philippines and experience some of the most picturesque destinations on earth across our 7000-island archipelago,” Romero said.

To celebrate the 9th anniversary, the airline also announced a limited fare of $249 one-way until the end of the month (30 September) – over 40 per cent off the average price on the sector.

Cebu Pacific launched its brand in Australia in 2014 with flights to Sydney, followed with Melbourne flights in 2018. Forced to ground its fleet during the pandemic, the carrier resumed services to Sydney 12 months ago, followed by Melbourne in March this year.
