Globus family of brands announces new hire and internal promotions
Globus family of brands (GFOB) – consisting of Avalon Waterways, Globus and Cosmos – has announced three appointments as part of an ongoing restructuring of its Australasian sales team, as the company adapts to meet the demand of its retail partners.
The company is pleased to welcome Gia Acitelli into the role of national sales leader and to appoint Greg Schein and Sarah Hoskin to the newly created roles of strategic business leader ANZ and national account manager for Helloworld, respectively. All three will officially commence in their roles starting from 3 October.
Gia Acitelli – National Sales Leader
Acitelli will be responsible for the planning, implementation and direction of national sales activities for the business development managers (BDMs) and sales coordinators to maximise opportunities for the company.
With over 20 years of experience in the travel industry, Acitelli will bring a wealth of expertise in commercial strategy to GFOB. Most recently, Acitelli worked for Virgin Atlantic as its commercial manager, ANZ. Prior to this, she held the position of general manager Australia & New Zealand at APG Network and regional general manager and sales and marketing manager at Virgin Atlantic Airways.
Speaking of her new role Acitelli said, “I am thrilled to be joining Globus family of brands as National Sales Leader. I look forward to working with the team to nurture its current sales partnerships and to developing new opportunities for the company to further drive results for the remainder of 2023 and beyond.”
Greg Schein – Strategic Business Leader ANZ
Schein joined GFOB in 2016 as a BDM, successfully progressing to regional sales manager and leading teams in Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Schein has been internally promoted to the role of strategic business leader ANZ, which will see him identify, develop and drive new sales opportunities.
Sarah Hoskin – National Account Manager for Helloworld
Hoskin joined GFOB in 2019 as business development manager, overseeing Victoria and Tasmania. During this time, she has established strong relationships with agents, motivating them to drive sales results for the company post-pandemic. Her new, internally appointed role will see her responsible for managing and driving strategic relationships with the company’s Helloworld and ETG national accounts, helping maximise sales opportunities across GFOB’s portfolio.
“We are delighted to welcome Gia to GFOB and congratulate Greg and Sarah on their new positions within the company,” said Brett Simon, head of commercial ANZ for Globus family of brands.
“It’s an exciting time across GFOB’s portfolio with extended seasons for Avalon Waterways, new launches and new product offerings coming in 2024 across all three brands. Gia, Greg, and Sarah’s honed experience within the industry combined with their passion and proven track record in sales will be pivotal in growing our relationships with agents and industry colleagues and continuing to meet and exceed the demand from travellers.”
