‘Fly a Friend For Free’ with Jetstar’s new sale
Edited by Travel Weekly

Jetstar is calling on Australians to follow the lead of OG reality TV stars Sara-Marie Fedele and Blair McDonough by reconnecting with an old mate (or current bestie) and taking the trip of a lifetime with its Fly A Friend For Free Aussie Holiday Packages Sale.

    Examples of the packages include:

    • Oaks Port Douglas – flights + 3 nights + more from $635 (departing Brisbane)

    • Next Melbourne – flights + 2 nights + more from $667 for 2 people (departing Adelaide)

    • Mantra PortSea Port Douglas – flights + 3 nights + more from $731 for 2 people (departing Brisbane)

    • Crowne Plaza Hobart – flights + 2 nights + more from $610 for 2 people (departing Melbourne (Tullamarine))

    • The Star Grand Hotel Sydney – flights + 2 nights + more from $778 for 2 people (departing Adelaide)

    • DoubleTree Hilton Cairns – flights + 3 nights + more from $894 for 2 people (departing Sydney)

    • Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach – flights + 3 nights + more from $827 for 2 people (departing Melbourne (Tullamarine))

    • Desert Gardens Hotel, Uluru – flights + 3 nights + more from $896 for 2 people (departing Sydney)

To celebrate the sale, Jetstar has pulled off the ultimate Aussie reunion, bringing together Sara-Marie and Blair for the holiday of a lifetime on the Gold Coast. It’s where the pair shot to fame in 2001.

Their Gold Coast reunion was the first time Sara-Marie and Blair had seen or spoken to each other since 2007.

Sara-Marie Fedele said: “As soon as we saw each other, we were in hysterics – it’s as if nothing had changed. Though we haven’t lived together in more than 22 years, Blair is still as cheeky, as hilarious and at times as annoying as I remember!

“It’s been hard to keep in touch, we both have such busy lives with family and work. So when Jetstar offered us the chance to reconnect, I couldn’t have been more stoked to take the trip down memory lane and have a massive catch-up on the Gold Coast where we first met!”

Aussie actor Blair McDonough said: “Although our friendship spans 20 plus years, we hadn’t actually seen each other in the past 10 years, so it felt a little awkward trying to reconnect.

“But let me tell you, it was bloody worth it! She is still the same old Sara-Marie, full of hilarious moments and endless laughs. Back then she had platinum blonde hair and was a mega Aussie superstar, which of course she still is in my eyes.

“Gosh we had so many funny memories to laugh about. I’m already looking forward to our next trip together. If you’re going to do anything today, take this as a sign to reach out to an old friend you’ve been meaning to get in touch with and make the effort to reignite your friendship. You too can also have an awesome holiday together.”

Travel dates vary depending on the flight route and hotel but include late October 2023 – late May 2024.

Jetstar’s Fly A Friend For Free Aussie Holiday Packages Sale ends at 11.59pm AEST Monday 3 July 2023, unless sold out prior.
