Sabi Sabi game reserve completes property wide re-vamp

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge has completed a property wide renovation, presenting a combination of African luxury and the lodges warm appeal without compromising its original vision of creating a ‘luxury home in the bush’.

‘Dakota Designs’ is behind the new luxury Bush Lodge suite drawing from the surrounding bush, presenting a new colour scheme that is a stunning display of natural hues. A standout element of the design is the artisanal fabrics by South African artist, Sarah Kelly, which feature pops of verdant green and warm ochre tones, expertly adorned with fauna and flora motifs, while refined décor elements add a touch of sophistication to the fresh and earthy colour palette, blending seamlessly with the lush foliage of the environment.

A beautiful Chinoiserie-inspired drinks cabinet is the centrepiece of the suite, and guests are spoilt for choice with a range of South African craft beverages which can be enjoyed under the large, covered pergola, or sipping a glass of award-winning wine on the newly upholstered daybed decorated in shades borrowed from nature.

Built-in daybeds can be converted into single beds and are equipped with an elegant netting to ensure children can rest comfortably while high timber beams in pay homage to the Bush Lodge’s history from the past four decades while preserving their presence.

The bathroom boasts a newly installed vanity unit with two smooth and minimalistic black basins resting on a timber slab and gold hardware accents for a luxurious touch. Behind the basins is an eye-catching black splash back, blending natural elements with up-to-date design features. A custom wood sculpture that reflects in the double mirrors, is inspired by the intriguing networks of termites, portraying a subtle message about family dynamics similar to those of a hidden termite colony.

Comfort was prioritised throughout the design process, with parents able to supervise kids’ bath time from an ottoman and nesting table in the centre of the bathroom. A free-standing bath with a stunning bush outlook creates the perfect spot to soak, while an outdoor shower provides a serene and refreshing experience.

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge is an ideal destination for couples, families, friends, and colleagues. Younger visitors will also find plenty of fun and stimulation with game drives and an EleFun centre is dedicated to children of all ages. The lodge’s gym is available for those wanting to stay fit on holiday, and the Amani Spa offers some well-deserved pampering and relaxation. For those seeking something special to commemorate their visit, the Bush Boutique offers a great selection of keepsakes.

The highlight, of course, is early morning and late afternoon game drives. Unforgettable experiences that allow guests to observe incredible animals, including the Big Five, up close as they listen to their guide and tracker share stories about them.
