Why you need to stay at the Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort

As part of a recent press trip to Vietnam, Travel Weekly’s editor-at-large, Nancy Hromin enjoyed a stay at Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort, read her review below.

The Location

Ho Tram is a secluded beach located in the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province in Vietnam. Its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City makes it a popular weekend getaway destination for both locals and tourists who enjoy long stretches of white sandy coastline and stunning views of the surrounding hills. Also nearby are the Binh Chau Hot Springs, where you can soak away the stress of the city in therapeutic mineral waters or spend the day walking the local streets and indulging quality Vietnamese cuisine.

The Stay

We stayed at the luxe Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort, a 152-room and 83-villa property, a five-star resort and experience. Melia is a well-run, sophisticated, and striking space with its design flowing seamlessly around the resort. There are no shortage of carts to take you around, but I quite enjoyed walking around the property and its lush gardens, lakes and swimming pools. There are three restaurants including a beach club, a swim-up bar, coffee shop, 20-treatment room spa, an executive lounge, conference facilities, a kids club, gymnasium, gift shop and more.

We were privileged to visit on an Australian press trip.

Rooms

We stayed in the deluxe Ocean View and indeed it was with sliding doors onto a balcony and sweeping ocean views. There is space and natural light, and the room was generously sized. The design is contemporary and modern with cream walls, and cream fabrics in warm tones.

Service and Facilities

Dining options are impeccable.

Cocktails by the 1500 square metre infinity pool are as lush as it gets but if you’re action oriented, you can also enjoy complimentary yoga, tai-chi, kayaking, paddle boarding, bodyboarding, cycling, beach volleyball, or tennis. The hotel also has a self-sustainable half-acre space called ‘Willow’s Garden’ with fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers, all free from chemicals and additives. There is also an outdoor cinema which provides a community entertainment feel to the resort for children and adults alike.

Swimming pools at the resort are a treat.

Wellness

The spa is fabulous with a suite of treatment rooms and a range of aromatic rubs, herb-infused soaks and massage treatments. Serious spa addicts can enjoy a variety of treatments to restore balance to the body and mind. I enjoyed a signature spa massage which left my skin moisturised and rehydrated. The spa’s lounge area was super comfortable with lounges to unwind in and herbal tea flowing.

Melia Ho Tram Beach Resort’s charming and picturesque coastal location, dining, spa and accommodation combine to create an immersive, modern Vietnamese escape. With its dramatic scenery and ocean vistas, it the sort of resort you do not want to leave.
