Travelport delivers American Airlines NDC content to agents

Los Angeles, CA, USA - Jan 02, 2016: American Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (Registration No. N804AN) taking off at LAX Airport.

Travelport has announced that agency customers in 53 countries across APAC and EMEA, including Australia and New Zealand, now have access to American Airlines New Distribution Capability (NDC) content through the Travelport+ platform.

Earlier this year, Travelport launched American’s NDC content for Travelport-connected retailers in North America and Latin America and the company has recently signed a new long-term deal with the airline. With the addition of 53 countries across APAC and EMEA, Travelport is now providing accessible NDC content from American to travel retailers located in a total of 73 countries worldwide.

Neil Geurin, managing director of digital and distribution for American Airlines commented: “Travelport has been a phenomenal partner supporting our modern retailing strategy as we provide accessible NDC content to travel managers and retailers worldwide.

“With the NDC expansion with Travelport+, we are able to simplify the customer experience and bring our elevated products and services to even more travel partners across APAC and EMEA.”

Damian Hickey, global vice president & global head of airline partners at Travelport added: “NDC is taking off, and it’s only going to get more important as more airlines expand their offers.

The European marketplace has been on the forefront of NDC for some time, and as APAC is seeing a lot of momentum in accelerating this side of travel retail, Travelport is focused on delivering the dynamic offers and more choice that retailers need and making it easily accessible through our Travelport+ marketplace.”

American has designated the GDS with trusted partner status and as such, all Travelport IATA customers using Travelport+ have access to American NDC content without additional airline registration requirements.
