Holiday Inn invites kids to review its hotels for 70th anniversary

Holiday Inn is celebrating its 70th anniversary with the launch of its newest campaign, Kids Critics, inviting kids 12 years and under to review their hotel stays across Australia and New Zealand.

Holiday Inn’s Kids Critics campaign supports the brand’s commitment to providing great value for families through its global Kids Stay and Eat Free promise, modern restaurant and bars offering, and its high standard of personal service to achieve guest satisfaction.

Founder of Holiday Inn, Kemmons Wilson, pioneered the brand in 1952 with the vision to bring people together for moments that matter and provide a quality, consistent and authentic travel experience for all.

Wilson founded the brand to enable what he called People Trips, a place where people could come together to feel welcome and at ease. This small idea with humble beginnings now welcomes more than 14 million guests every year.

Holiday Inn continues to innovate and transform as it rolls out a refreshed brand identity throughout its hotels in the Australasian region.

The new brand identity is defined by design-led ‘Open Lobby’ spaces that are warm and inviting, offering a seamless blend between the front desk, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business centre into one highly flexible space. The first properties boasting the new look and feel are Holiday Inn Werribee in Victoria and Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park in New Zealand.

Today, Holiday Inn has 4,200 hotels and more than half a million keys globally, with 31 open or pipeline Holiday Inn hotels across Australasia that will continue to grow.

To celebrate the anniversary, Holiday Inn’s Kids Critics has launched across Australia and New Zealand through an integrated marketing campaign, including a partnership with Australian personality Chezzi Denyer and her kids as reviewers of Holiday Inn.

An Australian research survey was also launched to draw insights from kids and their parents about what makes a five-star review for little travellers today.

In response, Holiday Inn is rewarding its youngest reviewers and kids critics aged 12 and under 24/7 free ice cream until the end of November, as their feedback reveals that three-quarters of kids admit that they’re happiest when they enjoy special foods such as ice cream (74 per cent) while on holiday.
