#LoveCruise: Cruise Month returns ahead of summer sailing season

Cruise Month has returned in Australia and New Zealand, bringing a month-long celebration of cruising’s revival ahead of the summer cruise season.

Under a new theme of #LoveCruise, the Cruise Month initiative will bring together the Australasian cruise community in a succession of cruise promotions and marketing campaigns throughout September, each designed to harness the renewed passion of cruise travellers throughout Australasia. This year’s Cruise Month is the first since 2019 and will progress through four weekly focuses: Ocean Cruising (September 4 – 10), River Cruising (September 11 – 17), Expedition Cruising (September 18 – 24) and Luxury Cruising (September 25 – October 1).

CLIA travel agent members will receive regular Cruise Month promotional offers by email, and will be able to mount their own #LoveCruise marketing campaigns inviting travellers to explore new cruise holiday ideas.

Plus, newspapers will publish dedicated Cruise Month features in their travel pages, and social media campaigns will appear on Facebook and LinkedIn throughout the month.

“The return of cruising to our region has reignited the passion of Australian and New Zealand travellers, so September will be an ideal time to capitalise on renewed demand for cruise holidays,” said CLIA managing director for Australasia Joel Katz.

“Public sentiment around cruising is now at levels even higher than before the pandemic, so September’s Cruise Month initiative will focus on channelling this interest towards our CLIA member travel agents.”

To make the most of Cruise Month, CLIA travel agents can log in to the CLIA Members Hub and explore the new Cruise Month Toolkit which offers resources to use in their own marketing initiatives, including videos, photos, social media tiles and editorial features. Agents can also view recordings of recent webinars for more information on the toolkit and how they can get involved in Cruise Month.
