Bonza reveals ultra-Aussie name of its first aircraft

Bonza has today revealed the name of its first brand new aircraft: Shazza.

The low-cost carrier called out for suggestions earlier this month asking Aussies to ‘nick their nicknames’.

A shortlist of the hundreds of suggestions were voted on by the Bonza Local Legends – the airline’s ambassadors in the communities they’ll connect when Shazza and her counterparts take to the skies.

The Boeing 737-MAX, that touched down earlier this month, is currently having her interiors Bonza-ified including obligatory splashes of purple. In tandem, the airline is progressing with in-flight and cabin crew training schools, finalising the all Aussie menu and stress testing the Fly Bonza App which will be the only place customers can book flights (with the exception of local travel agents). Preparations are also underway to welcome Bonza’s second aircraft imminently.

“Shazza was a clear favourite amongst the Bonza Local Legends who are the eyes and ears of Bonza in the communities where we’ll fly to. I can also reveal that the close runner up was Bazza!” Chief commercial office at Bonza, Carly Povey, said.

“We’re encouraging Aussies to keep an eye in the sky for what could be Shazza’s mate Bazza flying to Australia soon,”

Travellers are encouraged to download the Fly Bonza App in preparation for when flights go on sale.
