Qatar Airways launches trans-Tasman sale

Qatar Airways has launched a new sale to celebrate the expansion of its Adelaide-Auckland route.

The airline is now operating five-weekly flights between Adelaide and Auckland, with return fares starting from AUD$699.

Qatar Airways is also offering guaranteed flexibility on travel completed by 30 September. This includes unlimited date changes and ticket refunds.

The deal is available until 10 August for travel from now to 30 September.

Qatar Airways’ Adelaide-Auckland route was originally launched in April and operated by a Boeing777-300ER as an extension of the existing Doha-Adelaide service.

Qatar Airways vice president of sales for Southeast Asia, Southwest Pacific & Indian Subcontinent, Jared Lee said: “The Australia and New Zealand region continues to be an area of strong growth for Qatar Airways, and the Adelaide to Auckland service will support the continuing growth of travel between the cities.”

“Not only do we continue to rebuild our network after the pandemic, but we are actively expanding it as travel restrictions ease.

“This is the latest in a series of enhancements to our Australian network this year, and we will no doubt continue to make upgrades as we expand our services further.”

Travellers can book this deal through the Qatar Airways website.

This sale comes as New Zealand recently dropped the last of its COVID travel restrictions.

NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the nation was “open for business” after the last restriction was lifted, completing the final stage of the phased reopening which began in April.

New Zealand has slowly been reopening its border to the rest of the world since February, first with Kiwis only and then to fully vaccinated Aussies in April.
