Midweek Catch-up with Club Med’s Michelle Nickelson

This week, we got in the tub with Club Med’s business development manager for QLD, North NSW and NT to talk Bali resorts, weekend sports and Bono.

What’s your main goal for this year?

To grow the Club Med market share in Queensland with a focus on our exclusive collection.

What’s your favourite thing about working in the travel industry?

Without a doubt the people.  I love that we are so passionate about what we do!

How do you like to spend your free time?

Spending time with my family and friends. Watching my kids play their sports and cheering from the sidelines.

Have you managed to do any travelling since restrictions began to ease (domestic or international)?

Not yet, however, I am heading to the reopening of Club Med Bali next month and I cannot wait to experience all that Club Med has to offer!

What’s your favourite travel company, besides the one you work for?

Crooked Compass and their immersive experiences.

If you could invite three famous guests (dead or alive) to a dinner party, who would you choose?

Iris Apfel, (100 year old American interior designer, fashion icon), Elon Musk, Bono.

What’s something positive you’ve witnessed or experienced since the global pandemic hit?

I have witnessed resilience, collaboration, and genuine care and concern for one another.

What’s your advice for others in the travel industry on coping with the global pandemic?

Be positive that the worst is behind us, onwards and upwards!

What book and/or TV show can you not get enough of lately?

Book: Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom and TV: Netflix series Inventing Anna.

Do you have any travel goals for 2022?

My travel goal is to take the family to a Club Med property pronto!!
