Brisbane’s first Courtyard by Marriott hotel opens its doors

Marriott International has announced the opening of its first Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Brisbane.

Located in the South Brisbane business district, the 134-room Courtyard by Marriott Brisbane South Bank is the fifth Marriott property in Brisbane and the 26th property in the country, according to the group’s area vice president for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Sean Hunt.

“Courtyard by Marriott is one of the fastest-growing brands globally, and we foresee tremendous opportunities for the brand in the country,” he said.

The hotel is only a few steps away from South Bank, which is home to 17 hectares of lush parklands, world-class restaurants and hundreds of events all year round.

The Gallery of Modern Art, The Wheel of Brisbane, the Queensland Performing Art and the Streets Beach are just a few of the most popular and nearest attractions to Courtyard Brisbane South Bank.

The hotel is also only a 10-minute walk to The Gabba and Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Courtyard Brisbane South Bank boasts 134 contemporary guestrooms, including 24 suites.

Each suite features a private walk-out balcony, galley-style kitchenette with dishwasher, microwave, full-size fridge and ensuites mostly with Brisbane river views.

The guestrooms are also fully equipped with an array of amenities including flat-screen televisions, work desks and high-speed internet access.

The hotel houses an all-day dining restaurant, Café63, which offers locally-sourced produce and authentic Australian cuisine.

Additional leisure facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre and an indoor heated pool for travellers looking to maintain their fitness routine while on the road.

Courtyard Brisbane South Bank also caters to various events needs with a flexible meeting and event space featuring high ceiling, natural daylight and an outdoor area that overlooks the Brisbane and South Bank parklands.

Mark Snell, general manager of Courtyard Brisbane South Bank, said the hotel brings a new experience to the Brisbane market.

“We are committed to delivering a welcoming experience that inspires and re-energises our guests,” he said.

“As a beloved destination for business and leisure travellers, we look forward to welcoming both domestic and international guests to experience our inviting hospitality and uplifting spaces.”

Marriott is set to expand the Courtyard by Marriott brand further in 2023 and 2024 with the opening of properties in the outer-Melbourne suburbs of Mulgrave and Truganina.
