A&K makes global leadership appointment, extends flexible booking policy

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has announced the appointment of Martin Froggatt as executive vice president of destination management and a member of its global management board.

The role encompasses global leadership across A&K’s destination management companies comprising over 55 offices in more than 30 countries, along with its luxury riverboat and lodges brand, Sanctuary Retreats.

Froggatt joins A&K with over 25 years’ experience in the travel industry with brands such as Walt Disney Attractions (now known as Disney Parks, Experiences and Products), TUI and Travelopia in both the UK and the US. He will be based in London.

A&K president and CEO Michael Wale said: “During these incredibly challenging times for the industry, I’m delighted to have Martin join us.

“As a renowned travel industry executive with a strong people focus, it’s great to have him on our global leadership team in its ongoing efforts to innovate and deliver exceptional travel experiences for our guests.”

Commenting on his appointment, Froggatt said: “A&K, founded by Geoffrey Kent, one of the icons of our industry, is one of those companies that one has always strived to work for – they are the best at what they do.

“Customers book trips, tours and holidays with them and expect the service to be incredible every time they travel and guess what? It is.

“This does not happen by accident. It takes time, experience and dedicated teams behind the scenes making sure this happens every day on every trip.

“Having a highly skilled efficient DMC network and controlled product enables A&K to consistently exceed guest expectations. I’m looking forward to joining the A&K family and working with Michael and the global team.”

A&K is also giving travellers confidence to book journeys into the future with an extended flexible booking policy.

New bookings made by 28 February 2021 for travel through to 30 November 2021 can be changed or cancelled up to 15 days prior to departure in the event of a COVID-19-related reason – whether at home or in the destination – for no penalty (terms and conditions apply, of course).

Travellers who cancel for this reason will receive a credit toward future travel with A&K.
