Royal Caribbean International has extended its Australian and New Zealand sailing suspension to the end of January, leading to the cancellation of 14 sailings.

The cruise line will be extending its cruise pause past the 17 December date set by the Australian government for the lifting of the human biosecurity emergency period, to include all Aussie and New Zealand sailings on or before 31 January 2021.

“Our primary goal continues to be a healthy return to service for our guests, crew and the communities we visit and we are working closely with local health and government authorities towards this shared goal,” the cruise line said in a statement.

“We will be reaching out to our guests and travel partners to share further details and address any questions or concerns. We are sorry for any inconvenience these cancellations may cause.”

Four sailings will be cancelled on board Ovation of the Seas: the nine-night New Zealand sailing departing on 4 January, the five-night Tasmania sailing departing on 13 January, the 11-night New Zealand sailing departing on 18 January, and the nine-night South Pacific departing on 29 January.
