Royal Caribbean International has confirmed several new cancellations after consultation with cruising and government authorities, and due to the closure of shipyards.

Sailings on board Odyssey of the Seas from 5 November 2020 to 17 April 2021 will be cancelled due to the closure of shipyards and disruption to the supply chain caused by the global pandemic which has impacted the ship’s construction.

Liberty of the Seas’ revamp has also been postponed to a later date, leading to the cancellation of Jewel of the Seas 14 February cruise.

Consultation with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and in conjunction with the US Centre for Disease Control (CDC) has led to the cancellation of some sailings departing from China, including Spectrum of the Seas sailings through to 23 November.

The company said it has been making changes to its existing itineraries to ensure it meets the evolving needs of its guests in line with travel restrictions, leading to the cancellation of Quantum of the Seas sailings departing from 2 December 2020 to 22 March 2021.

These cancellations are on top of the lines global suspension of sailings until 30 November, with Aussie sailings pushed back until 31 December 2020.

This comes as Royal Caribbean joins the likes of Qantas and Dream Cruises in announcing trips to nowhere with three- and four-night Ocean Getaways in Singapore, where Quantum of the seas will be giving travellers the cruise experience without going anywhere.
