APT wraps up first COVID-era trip with a whopping 58 guests

APT has wrapped up its first tour since March, after nine days exploring Outback Queensland.

The journey marks APT’s first departure since COVID-19 travel restrictions came into play.

Departing from Brisbane on 6 September, the trip took 58 guests on a nine-day air tour of Outback Queensland.

The trip included scenic flying with aerial views of the Outback, Cape York, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland Islands and rainforest fringed shores.

Key highlights included staying on Thursday Island in the Torres Strait and relaxing in luxury tropical resorts in Port Douglas and Hamilton Island.

APT Travel Group CEO David Cox said: “It’s a terrific thing to celebrate this first tour we have been able to successfully complete in the COVID era.”

“It’s an exciting milestone and credit goes to our APT team who worked hard to make it happen, and we thank all our partners and of course our guests who joined us for this incredible experience.

“We know it is the first of many such highlights we will be celebrating as we continue our long history of providing amazing travel experiences domestically, and when we can, further afield as well.”

The company is also looking ahead to 2021 with new Northern Lights summer departures.

Called ‘Intimate Rockies and Northern Lights, Vancouver to Yellowknife’, the 12-day small-group experience is priced from $14,995 and includes an air credit of $1,000 per couple when booked before 31 December 2020.

Agents can assure their customers they will be in a prime location for viewing the Northern Lights in a private ‘ViTeepee’ at Aurora Village.
