While international borders won’t be opening anytime soon, a new feature on Instagram is giving travellers a quick wanderlust fix, and making them even more keen to get back out there in the process.

The social media company’s newly launched Reels feature, which appears to be Facebook (which owns Instagram)’s way of competing with TikTok, gives Aussies a quick 15-second break from reality, with users posting snippets of beautiful destinations around the world and closer to home.

The new format can be used to create short-form edited videos with audio and music, which many people are using to showcase their beautiful surrounds.
