New CEO announced for AAT Kings Group

The Travel Corporation (TTC) has announced the appointment of Matt Fuller as the new CEO of the AAT Kings Group.

Fuller will replace Matt Cameron-Smith, who departs AAT Kings Group next month to join Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia as its new chief.

Commencing the role on 21 September, Fuller will lead a combined team across AAT Kings’ Guided Holidays, Short Breaks and Day Tours, as well as its Small Group collection, Inspiring Journeys and SEIT Outback Australia.

Bringing a wealth of tourism experience to the group, Fuller has worked at private and publicly-listed companies, a Packer family business, NSW government business enterprises and, more recently, at Transport for NSW.

He has also served as a non-executive director and trustee on a number of boards, including the Sydney Opera House.

An operator at heart, Fuller has led single-site and multiple location-based operations, holding state and national level responsibilities to deliver a number of high-profile projects.

He is particularly well-known for creating a new business model for the Taronga Western Plains Zoo.

TTC director David Hosking said the company was delighted to welcome Fuller to the AAT Kings Group team.

“Matt’s keen commercial acumen and proven leadership capability, valuable relationships, ability to establish a culture of operational excellence, and track record of delivering quality customer, community and business outcomes are all assets to the AAT Kings Group as we go forward in providing immediate support in our operations,” he said.

Commenting on his appointment, Fuller said: “I am thrilled to take on the role as CEO for the AAT Kings Group; such a well-respected brand and company to be a part of.

“It’s been an incredibly tough year for tourism and a challenging road ahead, which is why our communities need us now more than ever.

“I look forward to working closely and collaboratively with the industry to aid in the road to recovery. I strongly believe in tourism and the very positive role it will play in our economic recovery, and to ensure a smooth transition for when the borders open up.”
